rFactor 2 | GTE BOP Update Now Available

Studio 397 have released a new Balance of Performance (BOP) update to the GTE specification cars within the simulation.

The new update was released to Steam earlier this evening, adding various performance levelling updates to a number of cars within the simulation - from changes to weight penalties to various new default setups for a number of the vehicles.

As GTE content for rFactor 2 is held within the Steam platform, the new update should automatically download for players who already own the content the next time they restart their Steam client.

Update Notes:

Chevrolet Corvette C7.R GTE v2.47

  • Fix for wrong default differential preload
  • New default setup
  • Qualification fuel map as new default.
Aston Martin Vantage GTE v1.57
  • Added +5kg weight penalty
  • New default setup
  • Small adjustment to fuel consumption
  • Qualification fuel map as new default
  • Small adjustment to engine torque/power output
  • Downforce and drag
  • Corrections to damper travel in both directions (mainly on rebound, but also very minor to bump stops).
  • Fix for camber adjustment step (now it’s 0.1 deg) Note: this change will require corrections for camber angles in existing setups.
BMW M8 GTE v2.07
  • New default setup
  • Qualification fuel map as new default
  • Small adjustment to downforce.
Porsche 991 RSR GTE 2.47
  • New default setup
  • Small adjustment to fuel consumption
  • Qualification fuel map as new default
  • Small adjustment to engine torque/power output and downforce.
Ferrari 488 GTE v1.67
  • New default setup
  • Fixed fuel tank (was 93L, should be 90L)
  • Small adjustment to fuel consumption
  • Qualification fuel map as new default
  • Small adjustment to engine torque/power output.

rFactor 2 is available now exclusively to PC.

Now, please bring the C8R to the game!

I do not want to race the C8R with random Ford Escorts in Pcars 3. It is stupid.

It's ok, I'm not laughing at you, I just knew that comment would appear! :)

Well it's coming to iRacing, and that's usually a good sign it'll appear elsewhere at some point.

I know that URD are a marmite style developer on here (although I enjoy racing with their content) it's a possibility that maybe they'll make one like the Detroit, it all depends on licensing as usual.

Although looking at the BoP changes above I'm not sure how this will effect the pace of the Detroit now, will have to test it out at the weekend.

It just sucks to see how **** pcars 3 is. Yeah, the horse is obviously dead and I still want to beat it.

The issue with iracing is the cost and focus on MP.

URD hasn't touched rF2 in a few years. A lot of updates never came. Initial previews of the 1997 GT1 cars, were never released. It left a bad taste in the rF2 community. I'm not holding my breath on a URD C8 making it to rF2.

But if history is anything to go by, I would hope a S397 C8 making it into the game.

BOP? What's the fuzz? I've made BOP in selfmade GTR2 championship *gdb files for round 13 years now and I do not exactly call myself a modder (though I make rF Tracks with BTB for myself on occasions but that's about it).
Nevertheless, looking forward to try updates out.
