Rift S or new GPU? Input Needed!

Hey All,
I'm finding myself in a delima and am hoping some kind folks here at RD could weigh in. I'd like to upgrade my CV1 rift with the new Rift S, however I'm still running a GTX 1070. Anyone running that combo? Not sure if I should hold off on the headset and upgrade the GPU or if the 1070 will suffice for another year or two when I plan to do a new PC build. Thanks!

Current PC/rig specs
i5 7600k
GTX 1070
16 ddr4 ram
Accuforce v2 pro wheelbase
Fanatec v3 pedals
Custom 8020 rig
Some buttkicker tactile stuff
24" triple monitor setup

1070 would be ok with a rift S. Only problem title for me when I had a 1070ti was ACC.
A CV1 won't be a much different change in system demands than a rift S. If you have VR now then only upgrade if the CV1 has severe enough inadequacies to warrant it in your opinion.
If your 1070 runs everything you play on your VR and triples then a VGA upgrade will not bring much else to the table unless your system is struggling with titles you play right now.

Nvidia ampere is due this year and early mentions of it suggest a big performance leap

I'm running a Rift S with a 1080, I'm happy with the performance. It runs the Rift S @80fps with high settings.
I upgraded from a 1070 last year: it made a bit of difference, but not so much as I'd hoped. What made the biggest difference was going from an i5 6600K to an i7 9700K, and upgrading from 16gb to 32gb ram
It should run OK with the 1070, just not with everything on Max or Ultra.

Copy that. As much as I'd love to grab the new headset, I think best course atm is to wait til the end of the year and do a full PC build. I'm certainly interested in the new cards on deck from Nvidia.
