RSS Formula Hybrid 2018 - 2019 front wing - Provides a patch for the front wing of the RSS formula hybrid 2018 to simplify it and enlarge it.

This mod patches the Formula Hybrid 2018 car to have a 2019 style simple and wide front wing.

This mod requires RSS Formula Hybrid 2018, as it doesn't contain any part of the mod, it just patches it.

The only way to change a 3d model is to replace it with the edited one, probably the new 3d is in the patch file.

It isn't, it just includes the changes done to the model, which in this case is basically deleting and rewriting stuff, the RSS model is a few tens of megabytes, this isn't

That's incorrect, what that batch file does is copy the original file to a folder called original (so that the user can revert to it at any time).

Then it uses the xdelta program located in the bin folder (comes with the mod) to patch the original kn5 that was previously copied to the backup folder using the patch file and writes it where the original one used to be.

So how can you edit part of a 3d model without replacing it?

I have two copies of the formula hybrid model, my modified version and an original untouched one, by using a tool such as xdelta (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xdelta) one is able to generate a patch file that contains the differences between both files, which can then be used to patch another copy of the model.

any way to install this mod without replacing rss_formula_hybrid_2018 files? everytime I create a copy of the car and rename it to rss_formula_hybrid_2019 it crashes the game, any way to get around it?
