Save a Race.

How do I save a race midway and then come back to it later on please?

Tested very quickly and I know now your mistake ..... you don't choose the right button to come back to your saved event you were driving.

When wishing to come back the next time for the rest of the event .... if you had looked better in the possible choices .... you shouldn't have missed this one in the Championship menu:
"Load Saved" and a new windows will open asking "Continue Game ?" that you just have to confirm.
Don't use in this case nor "ReStart" nor "Continue"
Restart = restart the championship from scratch
Continue = next race ( as you had to quit race after saving )

Now here's the list of commands you have to do in the right order even in the middle of a race:
1) a) if you're between 2 sessions and in the garage-timing menu click save
b) if you're on track anywhere ( pitstop included ) click ESC then Save then wait a bit the saving message is gone then Quit.

2) It will return you to the garage-timing: click Finish Race

3) Don't choose "Continue .... but well "Quit" at the left

4) Game is saved for good

Next day, next hour, next week or month when you wish to continue:
1) go to Championships and choose the one you were in
2) choose "Load Saved" ... confirm "Continue Game ?"
3) the game loads where you were when you saved
4) the usual menu appears as it was when you saved .... just click "Continue"
5) You're gone !!!!!!! Yesssssssssssssss !

I deleted the copy of GTR2 I was using and now have a new GTR2 from Steam which should be ok. Think I've another copy of GTR2 that I've not deleted so I'll try that. What you described above was how I remember from before.

Buttons and presentation might be a different version .... but anyway, the principle is always the same.
2 old versions + 1 Steam with 10th Anniversary ( on my PC )... and always working the same way.
Good luck this time ... hoping this will be solved for good.

Now ... you're good to go definitively ! ...Fine !
Don't be afraid to add mods ( good ones are always better ) .... as this system will not change whatever the car or the track.
