show as offline on multiplayer -Help!

Currently supposed to be doing a 3 hour race with mu team mate. Game crashed just before race start. Now every time I try to join the server is shows 0 racing in the lobby and when I go in my team mate can't see me. Anyone come across this before? I've reinstalled etc but no joy, his stint is ended soon

I wonder whether you didn't try to enter the server before your team mate did as I suppose he's the first driver of the car.
I remember it caused a problem in this case... and I even think this problem couldn't be solved without restarting the server .... what the admin didn't do of course.

Not 100% sure but I think it might be one of the possible reasons.
I just did it once a few months ago so I have a possible doubt ( even though I think it might be a reason for your problem ).

Cheers I'm not really sure. I was down first, game crashed and he had to drive. When he did his stint he tried to.select me but ended up with both out the car! He game out the server and I some how got in. Either way it screwed it as it effectively deleted his stint and showed us in the results as different cars! Very odd!

This was the conclusion of a translation of an english text in french language I made for this race at the time:

NB : si les points 1 et 2 n’ont pas été respectés avec précision, vous pourriez vous retrouver dans une autre voiture ( généralement le N° suivant ). Dans ce cas, seul un Restart du Serveur peut solutionner ce problème.

I don't know where the english text is now but anyway this means that if there's a problem at the start and that it's not the 1st driver foreseen in the entry_list but the 2nd on the list to enter the server first and be at the start of the race..... you'll find yourselves both in different cars ( generally the next plate number ).
Only a server restart may solve the problem.

That's exactly what seems to have happened in this case.... as you were in different cars.

Your game crashed ( you were surely the 1st driver of the car in the list ) he had to drive and started first ... in place of you. The problem might not be solved without a server restart, what of course didn't happen.
Only noticing the problem to the server admin might have solved it if he decided to restart.

I think that answer is spot on, makes sense! When I crashed I should of got my team mate to come out. We may of missed a few laps but would of allowed me to join the server and then him.
