I am gonna have to post 2 screenshots of my desktop. I am using Fence that allows me to create "frames" and that way I can organize my icons how I want without having to worry that Windows decide to pull a joke on me by doing something dumb. When my desktop is not in use, my icons is set to autohide and when I need to do something, I simply just double-click the background. Taskbar is also set to autohide, but gets visible when I mouse-over it.
