SObjects not lapping over each other

Hey!

I've made some barriers in Sketchup, and i need them to hock on to each other in the ends.
So i thought that i could use the "space before/after" function, but it only work if you want the further apart, and not closer (1. pic).
I've experimentet with the "Offset" fuction, and it works... But only if a have them in a straight line (2. pic). As soon as i bend the line into a curve, they some sort of break apart (3. pic)

There aren't many ways of saying this, so I'll just say overlapping just doesn't work.

You can do something like this: One piece includes the overlapping, like this:
piece1_zps5zih6hao.jpg


The next piece just includes the middle:
piece2_zpsvhkdpdsa.jpg


The pattern is then piece1, piece 2:
piece3_zpsu06azann.jpg

(I've left gaps so you can see them, but with default settings it will be seamless).

You'll also need extra pieces for the start and end. There may be some unrealistic bending, but sometimes we have to accept compromise.

You might have better reuslts if each joint is its own object, with each middle also being its own object:
