AC Social Event: Mazda MX-5 Cup @ Laguna Seca - Wed 26Sep18

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Lagun.seca.png

Considered as one of America's best track, Laguna Seca is a classic road course, that winds its way around the hillsides in Salinas County on the Monterrey Peninsula. In total the course drops 59 feet between the entrance of turn 8 to exit of turn 8A, this is equivalent of a 5.5 story drop in only 450 feet of track length. Laguna Seca is a very popular and exiting track to race on ...certainly not an event to be missed.

A message to all Drivers
If you run off track, you have to check and see that its clear before you re-enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.
When entering the track from the pits stay off the racing line until you are up to speed and do not race on your out lap. Let other drivers by in qualifying.
On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car. Remember, you've made the mistake by going off so let them by cleanly.
Golden Rule
  1. Be 100% sure it's not your fault and just carry on like nothing happened and take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Play on the safe side and wait for the affected drivers, knowing 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a complete lift of the gas please if it is safe to do so.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in teamspeak. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

As I am a noob, is anyone here willing to share their setup or give me just some suggestions how to do it? Thank you in advance
Hiya Sasha, I'm a noob too, joined in May, have had fantastic advice and encouragement from the many mods 'n members here, to be honest I'd have probably left long ago without their help. So, most of all I'd listen to those guys - and watch their driving style whilst riding with them in practice sessions. Felt a bit like a *cough* voyeur, but soon learnt to like it:inlove::D

I posted a 'base' setup that I usually use here: Social Event: Mazda MX-5 Cup @ Mugello - Wed 19Sep18

Setups are a 'personal taste' thing, the only reason I use it is mainly: 1)how handles (I don't like understeer), and 2)I can keep it on the track for nearly a whole race:roflmao:

Some prefer just to drop the ride height down very low (half or lower) and fiddle around with anti-roll bars, bump and spring stiffness - I'm no expert so I try and keep it simple, 'rebound' 'fast bump' etc are all to complicated for someone of my age, or even Craig's:laugh::p:p

Also take a peek here, invaluable stuff https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/driving-style-and-setup-threads.146106/

Apologies for the long post! - hope it helps;)

noob rookie ? ...I would say neither, you are gaining experience at a very fast pace and already showing signs of becoming a very fast driver  just remember to always show respect and help others out as you move forward

With this particular car it is all about momentum, break very gently, really think about the need to drop a gear, get back on that gas as quickly as possible ... @Medilloni has posted a really good set up ..another person @Calvyn White ..his setups are great and if you speak to him in TS he is always willing to share
