We are starting off the year with a basic car for our Wednesday social events.
So any premium drivers looking to start online racing.
this is the car for you to dip your toes in the club racing at RD

Wait? What is this?
For this event you need absolutely nothing special. A copy of Assetto Corsa, keyboard, console controller, or steering wheel it's all fine. Today we are going to focus on getting you on the online track (for the first time) and giving you a great experience and making you a better driver.

Make sure to be on time for the extended practice session and have teamspeak installed and be with us for the full length of the event. This is the longest session of almost an hour to get familiar with the car and the track. That's right, you don't need to practice offline first. You can come by fully unprepared

After practice we move to qualification to decide the racing order and do a short fun race of only 30 minutes so everybody can return to their wives, girlfriends, mom in time.

Who can join?
All premium members using their full Real Name in the forum, race servers and teamspeak can sign up for this event and we have unlimited slots available so make sure to bring a friend. Sign up below and make sure to tag fellow community members who you think are up for a challenge!

Not a premium member yet but interested to race with our group of friendly drivers?

A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you have to check and see that its clear before you re-enter the track. Do not just keep the gas pinned and pull back on track.
When entering the track from the pits stay off the racing line until you are up to speed and do not race on your out lap. Let other drivers by in qualifying.
On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car. Remember, you've made the mistake by going off so let them by cleanly.

Golden Rule

  1. Be 100% sure it's not your fault and just carry on like nothing happened and take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Play on the safe side and wait for the affected drivers, knowing 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a complete lift of the gas please if it is safe to do so.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in teamspeak. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

Just a heads up for you if it's your first time at Brands. Coming out of the pits you almost immediately start getting into the apex of Paddock Hill Bend which is a high speed corner. Track map and Real Time (both default apps) combined will make this much easier to judge whether you should keep rolling out of the pits or just wait a few seconds;)

i'm in again please:)

And 'round the Hatch we go... :) Sign me up, please :D
Putting you both on the list :)

This will be my debut on AC, I hope I won't be so bad.

Sing me up, please
Don't worry about being slow. The only thing that should and does matter in our club races is to be "safe".
So instead of trying to hotlap as hard as you can until next week, please do some short races against the AI at 100% and 50% aggression and try to "survive" :roflmao:
You'll often end up with two cars next to you entering a braking zone or someone filling your mirrors. You'll have to practice to not get too nervous about it and just hold your line, or adjust your lines so others have some space left :)
If you really want to improve, you could watch the replay of every contact/crash that will happen during the offline racing and try to figure out how it could've been avoided.

Sounds more difficult than it is. The first races are totally overwhelming though! I was shaking after my first 2-3 ones :giggle:
You're very very welcome here and we're all looking forward to meet you in TS and on the Track :)

If you need any help at anything just shout. I got some time on my hands during the days now between semesters so I'll be happy to help where I can. :inlove:

Hi Krzysztof,

Wise words from Rasmus who is both wise and very accomplished.
I'm reminded of an old adage in motor-sport that may be helpful.
"You can't win a race at the first corner, but sure can lose it there"
As for 'worst Polish sim racer in history', we might have the next Robert Kubica in our midst :)
Looking forward to racing with you
Joanne
