Softer rubber for Heusinkveld handbrake?

My kids are not strong enough to use my Heusinkveld handbrake. Is wonder if it is possible to purchase that kind of rubber cylinder used in the handbrake but of a softer type, not as stiff as the white rubber that I have installed. Any idea where to find it or what I exactly have to search (elastomers?).

Edit: I forgot there's a print on the green cylinder I had stored in a box. You can read "Fibroflex". I have googled it and I've found this:

The sizes are exact: 20, 32, 8,5 (external diameter, lenght, hole diameter). There are 3 colors, with 3 different names: 80 Shore A (green), 90 Shore A (yellow) and 95 Shore A (red). I suppose the green one is the softer model, so I'll have to look elsewhere.

You can of course calibrate the handbrake to be more sensitive. This way you can make it very easy to apply the brake, but of course you miss some of the feel.
