Sound is broken in new update

Reallly,thin,tinny,monophonic engine cockpit sound with the Indy car and it is a third of the volume of Crew Chief.

Nearly jumped ten feet when Crew Chief squawked at me.

I tried changing the sound effects from 32 to 255 but it still sounds horrendous.

unplayable in it's current state.

Unless a smart boffin knows a trick for unlocking the sound engine?

Mainly in the cockpit and the indycar.

But I guess it is the same for all cars?

This might be related to my issue where sound comes through my rear speakers in a 5.1 setup.

I went to the audio options and cycled through the options (Default, Speakers or Headphones) and I could hear it correct itself.

Seems I have to do that each time.

I sort of fixed my issue.
Changed output to 24 bit 48 khz.

But I also changed the sliders and put the engine to 100 percent and also cranked up the overall sound volume.

And raised the effects played to 125.

Engine sounds thin to me but with the binaural head phone setting ,it sounds really good especially with other cars around.
