Sound problem

What is my problem? I have a good 5.1 speaker system. All other games sound great but in rF2 I can hear all other cars and sounds but I cannot hear the engine of the car I am driving. How can I fix this? It very difficult to drive when you can't hear the sound of your own engine.

Right now, this very week, rF2 has undergone a major sound update. At this time only the Oreca 07 in the TEST folder has been fully balanced to take advantage of the new sounds(also maybe the fpro and ir18) so other cars will sound wonky, probably until the Release Candidate becomes the official release. The new sound system has been confirmed to have positional stereo effects, but I'm not yet convinced it has full 5.1 capability.
