Start AC on Oculus without Oculus Home running

Hello there sim-racers , is there a way to start AC with CM without Oculus Home running in backround?

This would be a dream! The Home is the most annoying thing I’ve encountered in quite a while, especially considering how cool VR is once you stumble past the home screen.

Firing up Steam VR seems to make the painful part quicker....

Wile ago there was a work around, with run oculus as administrator, now it seems itdoesn't work.

What I do is this (workaround):

• Boot Windows
• Start Oculus software (the software library menu)
• Start Virtual Desktop (not Oculus' version, but Virtual Desktop made by ggodin, 13,99 euro) in the library
  
• Put the Rift on your head
• Start Assetto Corsa

This way Oculus Home is never started and you can see your desktop and the menu of AC in your headset.

to not have steamvr and i get the best performance i could ever have. 90 fps.if you want to run cm in vr then only with the solution above my msg

Thanks so much for the links. Just to clarify, if you want to run CM, the reddit solution is the way to go?

No the solution insert coin said. but you can allways choose your race on monitor from cm and then put your vr headset and you are ready to enjoy

Thanks so much for the clarification. I had bookmarked Virtual Desktop a while back. I may give it a shot to see if it makes the process smoother. I’m currently doing the typical juggle of starting from the screen, then throwing headset on, taking it back off to see what’s happening, fumbling with the controller that just rolled under the desk.... Might help with all that
