Step by step instructions on how to apply a texture to...

So I want to put a Wheel cap on this car I am making but when I apply the texture to the wheel cap (or circle) the texture just becomes applied to all the faces in the circle so the texture is basically only stretched to each end of the face and not just stretched over the whole wheel cap. How will I overcome this?

Need a quick answer btw.

Assuming you're using ZModeler, select all the faces, enable SEL, and choose a view. First Surface>Mapping>Reset UV (the faces should all get the colour of the top left pixel). Then Surface>Mapping>Assign UV, left click once in the view that can see them all. Change one of the other views to 'UV Mapper' and zoom out until you find the faces. Go to object mode and move it onto the texture, scale it if you need to.

If I remember correctly, holding Shift or something while using Assign UV makes them all use the entire texture like you said, so just left click, nothing else.
