GSC Extreme v1.25 is out - now also on Steam!

Steam Release Info

If you already own it you may now switch your Serial Number for a Steam key from the official GSC Extreme website:

This is valid for purchases made from release until February 9th 2015. New non-Steam purchases will NO LONGER warrant Steam keys.

Existing NonSteam installs will continue to work even if you do switch your Serial Number for a Steam key, but you will not be able to use the Serial Number again for an install in a fresh system.

Moving to Steam is recommended, but not required. Just like in this release, the plan is to continue updating both versions simultaneously. If you do prefer to keep multiple installs of the game for mods, be advised that for now is not possible with Steam.

INSTALLATION (Non-Steam users):

Update to v1.25 by running GSC Sync.

If you are having any trouble updating via GSC Sync, you may download v1.21 to v1.25 update package from this link, and then add the v1.251 & v1.252 update package from this link to bring your game up to date.

Known issues:

Several code-related issues reported from v1.21 are still present in this build, as the code is going through a rewrite which has not been completed in time for v1.25. For that reason v1.25 has the following known issues:
  • Bug in the scoring in championship mode for all series;
  • F-Extreme can occasionally disappear when hitting 8th gear in multiplayer;
  • F-Extreme & F-Reiza tyre restrictions are not applying in pitstops.

Among other minor issues which are known and will be addressed in the coming weeks, along with the adittion of other features previously expected for v1.25.

UPDATES:

Update v1.251 added, changelog:

  • Fixed pit entry / exit at Johannesburg Historic where the AI could have some difficulties;
  • Adjusted idle speed & low range torque on the Metalmoro MR18 engine so it doesn´t stall as easily;
  • Minor tyre update to Metalmoro MR18;
  • Updated crowd, starting lights sound effects.

Update v1.252 added, changelog:

  • Further optimization for F-Vee, F-V12, F-Retro (hopefully addressing stuttering issues);
  • Optimization to offline dust effects;
  • Increased resistance of gravel traps;
  • Tuned F-Extreme rear wing aero performance;
  • Minor Metalmoro MR18 physics adjustments;
  • Fixed Metalmoro MR18 parc ferme rules being mistakenly enabled;
  • Corrected kart rental crash with vehicle detail under high setting.

Just to let Reiza know my position;

I use GOG for my games, (Good Old Games). I don't have Steam, I think I'll give it a miss. If I want to instal GSCE on a new hard drive in the future, I'll just email Reiza for a new key, considering it is now restricted, something I am not happy with. I bought it with the understanding I would have multiple instals. I consider my buying it a buisness transaction between me and Reiza, and you've changed the deal. So now I have cold feet.

It's too much for just two games to change to using software just to play another peice of software, if I was 15 years old maybe and wanted all those silly 'achievements' and 'social' gaming (no thanks); Steam is sneaky with 'data' collection, and I still have stuttering since v.1.21 no matter the setting, although it does slightly improve if I lock the FPS (with a field of 25 cars) on Reiza made tracks only; modded tracks = no stuttering. That is obviously hard to rememdy if it stil persists, considering all the system configurations, so I accept that I need to change my hardware. I can't play it properly until then, thus, another reason to not have steam right now.

I tested v1.25, the Metalmoro are awesome, really really good, and loving the historics - hopefully the historics will be a selling point for Reiza, and we can make our own custom Historics championships. Metalmoro is infact my second favourite car alongside the Stock V8.

I think it's great Reiza are on steam, for a bigger audience, but it's obvious they made you restrict future keys for owners so it would funnel them to their platform, I don't trust it changing my moded rFms, gdb's etc when it chooses to update or scan files. Correct me if I am wrong?

This is just my opinion.

But, for now, the fact that all this amazing content is there, i'll keep up to date with the game and come back to it at a later date and see how I feel.

It needs to be on GOG too.

The deal has not changed at all Rixamus. The migration to Steam is absolutely optional, you can remain using the game as you have so far and it will continue to work and receive updates as it always has :)

Yeah @Enzo Fazzi I think they just wanted to get this started on Steam which is fine. Probably got fed up with us lot asking them when it was going to be released! haha.

Even if we get small updates every few weeks that would be great :thumbsup:

I was only looking forward to the Superkart as it's largely a formula that's ignored and yet they are totally mad! haha. I know they are in Project Cars but would like to see them in a proper sim like GSCE as well :)

They've been working on the update for a while, nothing last minute about it. There's new tracks and new cars... :roflmao:

Thanks for v1.25 update and the Steam release, Reiza Studios.
Just installed via Steam and played 1.6 hours on Steam Record. And I'm really impressed with "Metalmoro", one of the best fun to drive & race car ever! :thumbsup:
Also, GSC Sync (for Non-Steam version) works fine. And I could update both versions without a problem.
I appreciate very much all your team's hard work! :)

even if your not gonna use the steam install , install it anyway to boost units sold on steam and thus rise the popularity of the sim.
Installing and playing it on Steam will only increase the sort of stats tracked at steamcharts.com

Reviewing it on Steam will help more(and you must "own" a game to review it). Getting a chunk of positive reviews is VERY important for a game to get 'eyeball space' on Steam - and the more time you have clocked in the game, the more people tend to respect your opinion...

In other news - those of us who bought from the RD Store need a path to get a Steam Key I think - my email address obviously didn't get to Reiza so they can't give me a key!?
