F1 2020 Stuttering On a High End System

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I have:
i7 6700k
Gaming motherboard
32 gig Ram
Installed on M2 1500mbs drive
Nvidia RTX 2080 TI Strix 11gig

I have stuttering on 4k Directx 12 and can and get roughly 42 to 50 FPS on clear race. Same on DX11
I have tried all tricks imaginable, high priority, gaming mode turbo boost, nothing else running, high priority etc
Standard HD 1920x1080 works fine but of course i think my rig should handle easy...

Nvidia Geforce I have tried the optimal settings which of course it recommends 4k and ultra high but still get the slight lagging or stuttering.

Maybe I am setting something wrong?

Any suggestions, What are you using?

There appears to be something amiss for lots of users. I and others have had a frozen game when using time trial and set new personal lap. I gave up on time trial mode instead set up a grand prix with 1 hr practice so I could set my FFB and learn car/track. A few laps in getting screen stuttering/freezing then car steers to left as though wheel settings have been lost. I only have 980ti on triples which runs 2019 version okay. Tried everything I can think of but nothing so far helps.

Im only running 1 monitor 55 inch 4k, I've just gone back to Standard HD... buff..

I have the same set up. But running at 1440p. I had the same issues as-well until today. On F1 2020 in steam under properties and General. I turned off Steam overlay while in game. Not one freeze all day. I also noticed there was a small patch earlier not sure if it was for this issue.

Same here - nearly always untick Steam overlay. I tested F1 2019 as per 2020 with same car, track, practice and had no problem so not my hardware. I then turned down graphics in 2020 to below what I have set in 2019 and seemed to help. Not tested for length of time to see if occurs. I was under impression 2020 was better optimised than 2019 - more so as graphic improvements seem minor so should not have to turn down settings to below 2019!

Same for me, 2019 runs perfect
