T500 appears as "Thrustmaster FFB wheel" instead "Thrustmaster T500 RS Racing wheel"

Anyone know why this happens?

Often when I'm booting up the PC, Windows doesn't properly detect my T500. It shows up as just "Thurstmaster FFB wheel". Instead of "Thrustmaster T500 RS Racing wheel". Which causes it to not work in sims.

When double clicking it, you won't even get the proper Thrustmaster calibration view.

Wheel won't work until I exit the game (I often notice only after loading the game etc), turn the wheel off and back on, and let it re-calibrate. Then it works and appears correctly, like this:

(Sorry for Finnish Windows). But when this problem happens (almost daily) it lists just generic "Thrustmaster FFB wheel" instead. This didn't occur earlier, started some months ago.

Another weird thing, it doesn't happen consistently. Sometimes it works fine without any re-calibration, straight after booting up Windows

I had this once... can't exactly remember how I fixed it sorry. Possible cause is that it's plugged into a USB3 port... it really doesn't like USB3. Make sure it's plugged in to a USB2.0 port, or a hub that's plugged into a USB2.0 port.

Hi Shredator how did it end? Was that behavior initial sign of whell going to die? I have exactly the same symptom + sometimes wheel by itself gives me button no. 6 pressed and hold. Reconnect usb helps for now, but these are worrying symptoms.
