F1 2010 Team mate cant finish a race

Playing my first season with Ferrari and Alonzo has not finished a race yet, usually about 3/4 through the race I get "Alonzo is finished, that's the end of his race" over the radio. Anyone know what is going on, is he just upset that I am out performing him?

i suppose he wears engine on practice sessions. Or (if u use fuel sim) he is driving on fast mix.
