The game just disappeared.

I went online about 3 A.M. G.M.T.( I think) and Steam did an auto update for AMS. I went off line after the update and tried to launch the game two different times. It wouldn't launch, the "configure game" wouldn't launch either. I hit the "reset" button both times, which I know I shouldn't do, and when I came back Steam said the game was not installed. I really didn't want to reinstall it, but before I do, does anyone have any idea why the game would disappear? Thank you.
