Yes, we need a pre war Grand Prix sim. Desperately ;)
Someone got a timemachine laying around for some LS goodness and car measurements?
:D

I vaguely remember Lord Kunos saying he'd like to do one, on one of his 'Look What the Cat Hacked In' vids, but that the numbers didn't support it, which I assume means they weren't sure it'd sell well enough. I guess it is a niche market within a niche market. Maybe a modable AC2 with a vintage DLC could work? - and open the door for modders to use the engine for more vintage stuff.

Exterior finished! Now the difficult part... all that intricate cockpit
Tris count for now, 110k

Even the very basics of physics modding are difficult for me :O_o: I redid the powertrain for the Kunos Escort using a 1968 homologation paper for the Escort Twin Cam and some dyno results for a race tuned Ford-Lotus twin cam engine, I replaced the tyres and changed the wheels to 13x6 with a 70mm profile tyre but with the lowest value final drive available from the homologation paper the car is only good for 133mph. There are lots of additional final drives in the paper that would probably make for a sub 100mph top speed so I'm guessing I've already messed up somehow

Check if there’s a drop gear.

Now has an important safety feature... the brake. One caliper in the middle of the (no-differential) rear axle. Although without halfshafts it's a mystery what it's actually stopping.

Don't worry it doesn't lock up both rear tires until about 80% pedal travel, it's fine without front brakes.

It may not be a pre-war grand prix car but it's about the same level of physics sophistication... and horsepower

I know that. But in a car like this the driver is obviously an integral part of the model.
Driving it around with that 60's driver , looks just totally out of place to me. You spend so much time and effort on your car. Why not put a fitting driver in it? For a modder of your calibre this is like 15 min extra work. Anyway, thank you for taking the trouble answering me Your Highness... :)

Honestly, I personally don't care much about what the driver looks like, I really am more interested in spending the time getting the car right.

If done properly, it'd take a lot more than 15 mins. But if anyone is into that sort of thing, by all means, do a decent job and I'd happily include it with the car. I simply don't care enough about that sort of thing to waste my time on it.

Same with when I do skins - some people are shocked I don't make suits and trackside trinkets to match (you know the things in the pitbox), but its just not something I care about.

Pitbox crews is one thing. A driver that you are looking at all the time and is basically part of the model is something quite different. But you know. It's your model...
