Thrustmaster T300RS Wheel 'buzzing' on ACC

Hi guys, I recently bought the above wheel and every now and again when playing ACC (and seems to be only happening in ACC) I get this weird 'buzzing' noise from the unit itself.
The unit will start buzzing when I have gone over the rumble strips on the exit of corners, it seems that one input is fighting the other (kerb rumble effect) then just doesn't switch off, its completely random, can happen 5mins into a race or 30mins. I usually wear my headphones and its usually the tiny 'buzz' through the steering wheel and an increase in electrical smell (only minimal) which gives the game away that there is an issue and my only option is to remove the USB, re-calibrate and start the race again, this can be a tiny bit annoying as you can imagine.

The firmware is up to date according to the control panel and the unit works fine with all other racing games, which does lead me to thinking that the issue might be with ACC itself?

Has anyone come across this before and how did you resolve it?
