Thrustmaster TH8 rs/a Mods

I'm planning to mod my TH8a shifter as I want to improve gear shift resistance.
Tightening the screw on the unit gives "rubbery" feeling and is not realistic at all when tightened.

I found a few mods but don't know how to correctly apply them:

Rubber band mod:

Rubber band / O-ring version mod

Beside this mods, I know I can replace the shift knob, install a shorter metal rod and make smaller shift gates (shortshift).

Anyone has any great ideas what else can be done to this shifter to make it more realistic?
Would gladly see modding solutions done by members on this forum

I have replaced the plastic tube with orings that make shifting much quieter.
