tires

So, the new F1 and stock cars feel like they have very realistic tires. I mostly drive the GT3 and I would swear that the new update changed all of the tires but I have heard that the GT tires are the same. I am not complaining about the GT feel in all honesty they are as good if not better than other sims. I am really just wondering if they are going to make all of the tires in the game like the F1 and stock cars. The update review said that they stiffened the tire carcass for those cars and it really seems to make a world of difference. On tracks with sweeping turns in the F1 you can really feel the tires grip up and have real detail. With the stock car, it is there but not as pronounced, but it is as you would expect with it being much heavier and with smaller tires. Just wondering if anyone knows if implementing this to other cars is on the table. And if so, please start with GT3, P1, P4, GT1 and GT4 as these are the most popular in multiplayer. And a final thought, the model that is in game for most of the cars works great for vintage cars as they have harder tires and you would expect a more all or nothing feel with that sort of tire.

Probably, but who knows about the time frame. I agree the GT tyres could benefit from some "stiffening".

Vintage cars are meant to be modelled with bias ply tyres, which have worse contact with the road surface and less grip overall but allow for larger slip angles. That is roughly in line with how those types of tyres work in the Seta model. The problem is that some cars (Mini 1965, BMW 2002) had their tyres broken in the December update and drive like they're on worn rain tyres with no lateral grip. Oh and the tendency of bias ply tyres to overheat is not correctly modelled at the moment, if anything you struggle to keep heat in them. So I would expect to see another overhaul at some point for bias plys as well.

I drove the BMW 2002 and it felt similar to how it felt in the past. That is a fun car that I wish got more love in multiplayer. Honestly, I have not played it enough to know if a detailed change has happened and most of the vintage cars have a stiff tire feel which is ok for them. I really would like if tires are going to error to error on the side of them having more grip or more accurately a more detailed progression of "gripping up" the way the F1 tires work. I get that the devs want cars that have lots of different feel and handling behavior and I respect that because it allows them to try different things and you never know what will work and players will have fun with. That being said, every car does not have to be completely unique. My point is cars should have some differences that is fun, but it is better to make balanced cars that are realistic instead of focusing on uniqueness as the priority. I really wish it was something as simple as changing some values to make all of the tires like the new ones.
