Tracks Track making to ac

Hey!

I'm asking for help, what would be "best" application for making tracks to AC? Blender?, RTB? Or something else?

And
Is there some specific reason why there isn't much winter tracks for AC? Is it harder to make than summer tracks?

Thanks for helping!

Blender, 3ds Max, or even other modelers that can export to FBX. But not RTB.

What do you mean by winter track? Something with snow? AC can’t simulate snow accurately.

Blender?, RTB? Or something else?

Blender is where you'll find the most support when it comes to creating for AC. RTB can make you a sample track, but for all the details a trackbuilder desires, a 3D program is required to create the packs for RTB. So you might as well get a 3D program and Blender is free.

It takes some doing to learn Blender well enough to create a track. Not that anything is particularly complicated, but you can become lost in the configurability of menus and windows. There are also so many ways of making objects that paralysis analysis can cause progress to halt.

When learning Blender, practice with the interface. Don't just do it for 5-10 minutes, seriously practice these things! Practice tabbing between edit mode and object mode. Memorize which color is which axis. Practice scaling objects. Practice moving vertices, edges, and faces. Practice extruding vertices, edges, and faces. Practice adjusting the 3D view. Add a top, side, & front reference image. Practice switching to orthographic top, side, & front views plus switching to the reverse side of those views with the Numpad (turn the numlock on). Final thing is to learn how to work with quads and add edge loops. Not everything, particularly on a track, needs to be in quads, but being able to use the subdivision surface modifer to add details is a darn sight faster than doing it the brute force way. Now you'll be ready to create a track and more...

I say this as someone who is on their third or fourth attempt to learn Blender... it's finally sticking this time! It wasn't too difficult to learn Bob's Trackbuilder along with some SketchUp 14 years ago and RTB uses similar notions, but Blender is so much more effective once you get past the initial learning hump.
