They were used at mike08s Autopolis, so I got in contact with him. But you are totally right, I will get in contact with Ilja as well.

Agree on the topic of color variance, will try to play around with that in a future update.

voyez-vous me donner un coup de main s'il vous plait

Excellent, but not potato PC friendly, made me drop from 60 fps to 47 fps.
Not quite clear what exactly can be done in tree.ini to mitigate. Is it documented?

Hé,
êtes-vous sûr d'utiliser la bonne piste ?
Ça m'a l'air différent.

You can change the LODs, maybe this helps:

[LOD_0]
MODEL = Birch_River_Desktop_8_Forest_000.bin
DISTANCE = 50

[LOD_1]
MODEL = Birch_River_Desktop_8_Forest_Lod1_000.bin
DISTANCE = 100

[LOD_2]
MODEL = Birch_River_Desktop_8_Forest_Lod2_000.bin
DISTANCE = 150

Forgot to mention:

To change the tree.ini you have to unzip the tree0.zip folder in extension->trees .
After changing the tree.ini, please make a new zip out of it with the same name (tree0.zip).

That's the point of Y trees, it saves a lot of FPS but it's ugly. With proper 3d trees, more polygons and less FPS :unsure:

With good textures, Y trees can do a decent job, especially when the sun is up.

But 3D trees with billboard transitions really are "next gen" and work well on all sun angles.

And yeah, can't have 3D vegetation and higher frames... its either or

Thank you for this! Just a little request: can you name the zip file to something more relevant to the file, instead of just content.zip? It usually helps when having to keep trace of so many great addons. :D

The trees look fantastic, well done but the trees in places pop up and complete the picture very annoying mainly when you are far away say at the beginning of the start finish straight as you get about half way down the tress in the distance begin to appear. Any fix ? any adjustment i can make my end ?
