VSync issues and fps

Hi all, i have already used the search function but didn't find something all right for what i am going to explane

i have a r9 290 tri-x 4gb with an lg 144 hz monitor and on rf2 i use vsync and running on 143 fps
i set the radeon panel on 143 fps for raceroom too but if i turn on vsync the game runs smooth but fixed on 60 fps....

ingame i have the monitor settings on the right resolution and on 144hz

if i turn off vsync fps increase and are fixed on 120 but i see some tearing or microstuttering expecially if i have other vehicles near

solutions? thanks in advance for who can help me with this

If your computer cannot keep a steady 120 fps the frames will fall back to 60 fps.
Nothing in between if Vsync is on.
CatsAreTheWorstDogs: There is also something with the cable quality.
And at least some years ago you had to have double HDMI to get 120 fps.

No Bruno, i think my post is not so clear at this point

My pc goes perfectly on 130/140 fps with rfactor 2 with vsync on...

On raceroom if i turn vsync on i have frames strangely stuck on 60

Yeah but actually I did understand this
But eventhough I have never been running with Vsync on - then I have read that if something makes it difficult for the PC system to keep above 120 fps all the time then the frames fall back to ½ (= 60 fps).
And searching around I found also something about the cable and HDMI capacity;)

my graphical card is connected with a display port not with the hdmi:(

so is a raceroom issue with vsync?

You're probably limited by your CPU's performance. In certain situations, even fairly powerful CPUs struggle to keep the framerate above 60. Try lowering the detail (track, cars, visible cars), but I wouldn't expect a big improvement.

It's in large part precisely for that reason :) DX9 is 18 years old at this point (yep, it's that old), it's not optimized for the current hardware and has a lot of limitations. Raceroom can really push it to its limits at times.
