WEC: Booth and Lowdon to lead Manor LMP2 effort

Former F1 duo John Booth and Graeme Lowdon have confirmed the ongoing rumours over their racing future after revealing they intend to enter the LMP2 category in the World Endurance Championship under the Manor name.

Having resigned from the Manor Formula 1 team at the end of last season, many people close to both Booth and Lowdon began to talk of a potential WEC endeavour, and indeed the team will compete in the full WEC season.

Manor will field a Nissan powered Oreca 05 chassis and have already confirmed former Manor Formula 3 driver, Tor Graves, as their first driver.

On the announcement Booth told reporters, "We are delighted to be joining the World Endurance Championship' and that 'the level of competition is very high and we are really looking forward to racing again."

The 2016 WEC season kicks off on April 17.

They should go for some competition in the LMP1 non hybrid category. It is disappointing seeing the Rebellion dominance on the category.

Guys.. We are talking about Manor here...

They Didn't (don't) even had the budget for F1..

Even the Koles car can't compete with the Rebellion.
And he has more money then the whole manor thing..

And why would you race in a class with nearly no coverage. The Kolles car was often behind the LMP2's. LMP2 is cheaper to run, you have an amateur that brings money, close field so you have the chance to win and due to the close races a lot of TV coverage to attract sponsors.

All fine by me but could someone point out to the designers that there are more colours than black, red and white to paint with? Diversity is an underestimated factor in race liveries. If Audi, Porsche, Toyota and so on all use the same colour pattern it could get pretty monotone on that matter.
