Quite a few issues for some of us before the race. Steve lost all gearing info, I couldn't find my car when I was rejoining the server and when I did, had the same gearing issue. Eventually got it back after leaving the game and redoing the car's folders.
I enjoyed my first taste of the LMP1 - thanks to
@April Dillon and
@Steven Andrew for their help. I wasn't as far off the pace as I thought I'd be, but still had one too many spins as my concentration went. When I pitted, it took nearly 2 minutes - is there an option to turn damage repairs off as there is in other mods, as I couldn't find one? (I didn't know that I had any damage!) The bug that caused my game to crash a couple of times in practice reappeared-with the game freezing for a couple of seconds before shutting down. Sorry that I was unable to complete the race - enjoyed it whilst I was there!
It is the very last option in the HUD. Quite annoying, I know...
Anyway, congrats to the four of us who finished (nine started)! Visibility was atrocious in the last 10 minutes, wow. I wish I could have put up a proper fight with Pedro but it wasn't to be. I was going with hard tires for the race planning on 3 stops but only 1 to change tires, without having run hards before so a bit of a gamble.
In the first 10 laps things were good, I had passed for p2 and was gaping well with Pedro ahead, comfortably running 3:18.5s to 3:19s and with a huge margin to p3, but on lap 10 I completely forgot about T1, went head on and lost 1 minute and 50 seconds. I had to change tires but soon after getting caught up by a GT, I lost temperature on the tire, had to put my car in a bad part and being forced on the marble I spun at high speed and flatspotted badly.
I ran for another 9 laps and pitted for tires again, losing another 53s. There were a couple of other events costing a couple of dozen of seconds but it's endurance racing. Anyway, managed to recover a bit and finished 2 minutes behind p1 without seeing a darn thing on the track
