What are your favorite recipes?

Since this website is visited by people from all over the world, I though it might be a great place to share recipes for some of your favorite meals. I'm thinking about dishes that might not be common for people in other countries, or who would like to experience other flavors but don't have the ability to travel. So, I'd love to see what everyone can come up with. Think of something local for you, something that means "home", something your grandmother would have cooked for a family celebration. I can't wait to experience a piece of your culture in cooking.

Great idea for a thread Jason - 'we are what we eat' couldn't be more true (or important) than it is now! ;) The UK culture of recipes hasn't always looked to inspiring (tho love my Sunday roast), our own favourites are mainly from the Med and Eastern Europe... and further east too!

Too many favourite recipes to mention, but for starters.... through winter we've been trying variations of Hungarian Goulash, this recipe was one of the better ones we tried: https://www.hairybikers.com/recipes/view/beef-goulash

An old fashioned northern Brit dish to me would be bangers and mash, still love it now https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/user/500791/recipe/sausage-and-mash

Looking for an authentic Hummus recipe from the source. Perhaps someone here who lives in Egypt or the Middle East can share?
