What can be done to salvage a mod?

Hi,
I have this one particular car mod for AC, it hasn't been updated in a while and game refuses to launch when I try to use the car.
Is there anything that I can go and edit in car files to make it compatible with the latest AC build? Any common failures or problems with these outdated mods?

Most common problems with outdated mods are no exterior sounds and old tyre models, neither of those make the car not launch though, and they can be fixed easily with CM. Check the log for error message after trying to launch, or use CM to analyze the car

no issues found in CM, I'm not sure which log file I need to check. The errors.txt doesn't show anything.

Outta curiosity do you have the Porsche DLC? Mods using any of those files won't launch if you don't.
