PC1 What Is Old Is New Again

I reinstalled Project Cars this weekend and I'm very impressed. Its not the old PC1 that I deleted 2 years ago. The graphics are really beautiful, expecially with these new monster video cards of today are very clear in vr with a nice frame rate with my Odyssey MR.

Also, with turning up the FFB to a 100 and tuning it down in each car and the help of my new Fanatec v2.5 wheel the physics are not bad at all. Quite lively and detailed actually.
I was hoping to swop some settings tips here.

And maybe some DLC. I managed to find near 60 cars so far.
The only thing that is disappointing is the auto exposure. Is there a work around?

Update, the auto exposure is one of the main problems with PC1 for me. I have only found two small fixes. In options/virtual reality settings turn up exposure fov from 60 to 90. This only helps a little. Turning it down makes it much worse. It needs to go up to 120 or more. I found it in a doc's file but so far can't alter it there the way you can AC or F2.
The other fix is moving your seat ahead, which screws up fov and you also lose peripheral vision.
So not much of a fix.

Thank you for posting this, you made me curious so I re-installed PCars.
I was curious how it would look and feel, now that I have a much better GPU and added tactile to my rig.
As for the movie "There is something about Mary" there is also something about PCars.
Some car/track combo are quite entertaining to me. Too bad they did not stick to it longer to fix some bugs, issues and improve some cars. PCars2 got improvements, no doubts, but also some of the combo are not as much fun to drive as they are in PCars.
I am posting here, as other my be curious and end up having a good time in 2020 in a title that tried to do too much, hence did a lot wrong, but also had some very good fun.

Hey Paul, I've been messing around with PCars 2 because I broke my arm back in September. I've always loved driving Cali Hwy and Azure Coast just like a leisurely drive instead of always pounding out laps going Mach 2 with my hair on fire. I've also always said PCars 2 had some promise and if I put the work in on settings and such with my wheel like I have with AC, I'm sure I could get it to improve. I'm now happy to say I'm having so much fun with it that I'm starting to make skins for the cars and I share them here. When my arm get better, I may even start looking into some racing online with it. Anyway, I saw your message and wanted to chime and support what you and @Cote Dazur are saying. It has it's issues, but if you accept it for what it is, it's a hoot. AC is still my fav, but I like a lot of sims. Hope you both have a blessed New Year :)

Cheers

I was doing a restart to adjust exposure. When I got back in game it was in first start mode.
Man I've looked and there just isn't anything helpful on the net. I came across a post you were in on steam talking about the auto exposure, but that's really it. I've tried all kinds of different combos of terms and I just can't generate search pages regarding your issue. You may want to use the official forum, if you haven't, or contact the devs via email if it's listed.

AC did me that way one time and......................it just sucks. I wish I had better news or could give you an idea, but I'm tapped out. One thing I did after AC took that dump on me was, once I got everything set up again and liked all my settings, I made a backup of that folder so I could just plug it back in. It came in handy because AC did it to me again, but with Content Manager. I'll keep an eye on this post and I'll do a little more research, but you are probably just going to have to redo everything. Good luck man:thumbsup:

Oh man! That was very generous! Thanks!
I think AC did it to me years ago as well, now that I think of it?
There were about a dozen cars that felt pretty good and was about to post the settings here.
I really wish I could cut a paste the PC1 FFB settings generator in other sims. Complicated but useful once I got my head rapped around it. It's the multiplier that messes me up but think I have it figured out?
Thanks again!

You're very welcome.
The cut and paste FFB settings generator sounds very interesting. I had PCars and loved my settings, but I had serious trouble with PCars 2 which is why it sat idle for so long. I finally used JackSpades files and now I've got much more feel and enjoying it again which is why I'm now teaching myself to make liveries for the game. I'm a complete novice, but it's nice to give something back to the community. That's why I tried helping you. You've sent me some really kind messages and I just wanted to try and do something for you. We're all in this together which is why the community is great. Oh sure you have toxic flame throwers from time to time, but I just ignore them and they get tired of being ignored ;) :)

I finally used JackSpades files
I am using Christiaan pure FFB, it is what put me at peace with PCars2.

Yeah! That really helped in the point of braking loose. I can feel the wheel get light and grab again. This is what I was digging for in PC1. Thanks again.
But man, PC1 just looks so much better in VR than PC2. The same as AC to ACC. Both later sims have a lot of jagged lines and overall blurriness. PC2 was so bad that I didn't know it was raining until I heard it first.
Getting back to the settings wipe, I noticed it didn't delete everything. Some of my screen settings were still there but not all. Now that is even more strange.
With FFB in PC1 I've noticed the biggest thing to keep in mind is the MZ settings. These are multipliers and can cause a lot of confusion, expecially with the main/first one. Much over 50 seems to distort everything beyond correcting any other way. And a hundred (which is standard) is completely F'd up. It adds too much dampening while increasing the above values to compensate, I'm guessing, but it just doesn't feel right. Ends up having too much center spring while washing out the finer FFB details, which I think, is the biggest problem with PC1 FFB.
