Lol, I used to make skins for IL2 Sturmovik. Yea, things have progressed over the years and its just not that easy anymore.I've painted my own stuff back in Race 07.
I have been away a long time.
OK, I've done stuff in 3dsmax too & thought there would be some standards - like - here's a model - go for it!Lol, I used to make skins for IL2 Sturmovik. Yea, things have progressed over the years and its just not that easy anymore.
Reading back what I wrote and I did not intend that to sound how it did. My capabilities are basically none, it wasnt supposed to sound like I know how to make skins in Assetto cause I dont. My skinning experience in IL2 consisted of opening and editing in GIMP, saving, and having a new skin.OK, I've done stuff in 3dsmax too & thought there would be some standards - like - here's a model - go for it!
Apparently not.
For a lot of cars, from the CM Showroom, you can calculate and export the AO (shadows) and the wireframe as png's and then whack them into a psd / Gimp file as layers...instant template. An excellent James Tumilty video on making skins turned me on to that particular trick.
THANKS - phase 1 complete, but what a difference!Assetto Corsa main folder -> sdk\dev\skin_templates
Templates for nearly all Kunos cars there, including those two Porsches.
