Where do you put custom helmets...

Hello all, I know I am missing something simple, I have created my first custom car skin for my league, and also finished a helmet skin. The car is all good and am very happy with the results, but... I also have a helmet for the driver, i have the appropriate file but for the life of me can't get it to show ingame, I see helmet .dds files in some of the other cars in AC, but not all seem to have a specific helmet.dds file, I have tried just putting it in the cars skin file and editing the .uni jason file, as well as editing the skins.ini file... i"m stumped, also the specific car is the Ferrari 312T.

helmets and suits are located
assettocorsa\content\texture\driver_helmet

Easiest way is to simply put the helmet texture in the skin folder and delete the skin.ini
Correct way is to put a folder containing the helmet dds here:
:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\texture\driver_helmet

And then point to it in the skin.ini

I have a problem, when I change my skin.ini with the new helmet the game put on the basic white helmet...
