DiRT Rally Where does R4 fit in?

I'm just curious where the R4 class fits into the 2000's and the 2010's. What's the difference?

R4 is a more tuned Group N-car, but still within the old rules of weigth etc.
So compared to a WRC car, an R4 has less power and higher weigth, other than that they are pretty similar. The premise of Group N (and R4) is a simpler, cheaper and slower car than the WRC's.

The R4 cars are the kind of vehicle you see a lot in country-level rallies. So not factory-backed WRC competition, but privateers buying a rally car and taking it out on local rallies.

Motors TV shows lots of these kinds of rallies throughout the year.

Affordable for national rallies. They go alongside 2010's timeline-wise, as a privateer class.

Way newer than 2000's class, but still slower.

Basically what used to be Group N, but R4 is pretty much gone now.
