Of the current 10 European circuits in the F1 season 2022, only 8 will probably remain for 2023. Paul Ricard is already confirmed not to return next year.

If one more track has to be left out, which one would you choose to removed from the 2023 roster?

Would be sad to rob the ibarian peninsula of their GP but Barcelona is really boring nowadays.
Apart from some T1 DRS dives that go wrong more often than right, the track has zero action happening...

Similar things were said about the Hungaroring but in the last years we've seen some great battles throughout the first half of the lap!

Zaandvort and Imola.. Not much action either but I'd say they deserve more chances. And I like the tracks...

Monaco will never be removed. But that track is not exciting for the battles on the track anyway. I enjoy watching the cars fly through that track without battles!

My reason for chosing Monaco is not to get it removed but to argue a case for it's revision, most circuits have in the past couple of decades been heavily revised to improve the racing and Monaco should be no exception... no matter how reviered and historic it may be, the cars have changed and the circuits (in general) have become perhaps too safe, and while Monaco punishes the wayward it doesn't really seem to reward the viewer with action, and, after all it's the viewer that pays the bills.

Oh yeah, Paul Ricard... damn man, get rid of all those seriously ugly blue and red stripes all over....

I said Spa as we lost it due to financchial reasons. Drivers begged for a comeback and it is so different from other tracks making impossible to replace. The closest to Spa is Nordiscliffe where sadly we can not go as it is difficult to facilitate medical posts with communication due to large size.

I'm confused...
You praise Spa but vote for it to get removed?

Austrian for me should go... I'm sorry but it's too short a circuit to have a Grand Prix... but in it's favour it offers changes in elevation as it's been built into the landscape. Perhaps look at bringing the old section of track between the Niki Lauda Kurve and Remus back into use? Google Maps shows the tarmac is still there so if there is the desire to do so it could be upgraded?

Although I'm also torn with dumping Monaco. Barring issues then that's very processional and boring to watch.
"Racing around Monaco in a car is a bit like trying to ride your bike in the kitchen." said Massa - with several other drivers giving similar quotes.
And on the run down between Casino and Mirabeau there's that awful bump/manhole cover in the track that the cars avoid. You would have thought that with all the money available they would have looked into fixing this?

These cars are a lot bigger than an MP4-4...way too big for Monaco, unless you like glamour driven processions.
I view that race as a day the celebrities come out to see what an F1 car looks like up close...an exhibition if you will.
That race is simple on the calendar out of tradition and glamor.
It can go first out of all on the list.
Red bull Ring next and Hungary in that order.

It's much longer than Monaco, and produces great racing. Needs 1 less DRS zone though - but that's on FOM.

Unfortunately, Monaco will never be dropped, and that's a crying shame as it is no longer a spectacle, just 78 monotonous parade laps by cars that are far too large to do anything else. Zandvoort is hardly the most exciting of races either but I opted for the Hungaroring as, unless the weather changes, this circuit normally is a borefest, plus it is my least favourite circuit to drive in F1 22

Definitely Monaco. An anachronistic joke.

If this "track" were not situated in a city of millionaires and renowned hotels/casinos (and home of many F1 people) F1 would sneer at the thought of racing there.

To be honest, I'd rather they remove Spa or Monza than make revisions to good tracks. A lot of great F1 tracks have been ruined by F1 to make them safer or more exciting, but it always ends up being stupid chicanes being inserted here and there to create more overtaking opportunity or to slow down top speed. I'd hate to see great tracks like Spa or Monza revised any further to make F1 happy. This is the same reason why I was not as keen as vettel about his statement of hoping F1 goes to Bathurst. The best parts of that track would have been deemed too unsafe for F1 and revised.

I am on the school of thought that Motorsports is inherently somewhat dangerous and trying to change the layout of the tracks to make it safer would kill what is great about motorsports. I am happy to see more run-offs and improved tecpro barrier technology but I want good track layouts to stay the way they are.

I have long decried F1's butchering traditional tracks, or abandoning them altogether in favor of these flat, bland, modern circuits. They boast of their high tech, powerful, fast, cars, then refuse to race anywhere that let's us see that. The great Hockenheim is a little club circuit now; Monza is a shadow of a once fast track, Silverstone is a charter member of the "chicane of the month" club, bearing little relation to the "real" track. Their goal apparently is tracks resembling oversized karting tracks, no straights at all, just a series of squiggly little turns. If they are afraid of speed then leave the tracks alone and slow the cars - what's the purpose of 700+hp when as soon as you hit high gear you must stand on the brakes for a twisty little chicane. You cannot even compare performance of today's cars with those of 20, 30, 50 years ago because they are not competing on the same track ...even though it has the same name.

BTW, all those acres of sandy runoff areas may be great for safety but they stink for spectators, you now sit so far away you need binoculars to watch the action. Better to sit in the comfort of home and watch on TV.

Honestly, I know I'm gonna get a lot of flak for saying this but I believe a certain level of risk to body and life is expected with sports of this nature. No matter how politically correct we'd like to pretend to be, let's not try to think of motorsports as soccer. The cars are going 300km/h and it was never natural for humans go to that fast on 4 pieces of rubber.

To try and deny that there is a certain level of risk and to try and take away anything remotely risky essentially just kills motorsport. I know people are going to say OP is just some armchair commenter, but whoever I am doesn't change the fact that we are watching F1 to watch real life heroes do things that is otherwise too scary or too difficult for the rest of us not sitting in a car on the grid on a qualifying Saturday. The more unique and exciting the track, the more excitement we get.

If they can make the car safer, great. But if they have to keep removing exciting parts of great tracks to make things safer, then what is even the point? Why are we watching F1 and not basketball or soccer?

As for the runoffs, this is the maximum extent i would compromise with as it doesn't change the actual track layout but adds quite a lot in terms of safety, and it sure as hell is better than littering chicanes here and there in front of the best and most exciting parts of the track.

I would suggest any of the following opposed to the ones listed above.

March 5 – Bahrain Grand Prix – Bahrain International Circuit
March 19 – Saudi Arabia Grand Prix – Jeddah Corniche Circuit
April 16 – Chinese Grand Prix – Shanghai International Circuit
April 30 – Azerbaijan Grand Prix – Baku City Circuit
May 7 – Miami Grand Prix – Miami International Circuit
September 17 – Singapore Grand Prix – Marina Bay Street Circuit
October 8 – Qatar Grand Prix – Losail International Circuit
November 18 – Las Vegas Grand Prix – Las Vegas
November 26 – Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – Yas Marina Circuit

......

A more bland, formulaic, cookie-cutter batch of tracks would be hard to imagine.

Bring back Brands Hatch, Kyalami, Watkins Glen, Mosport, Dijon....
