Why do people list the spec of their computers?

A lot of developers visit this page to help with problems/issues. It's handy for the devs to see what you are running on without having to ask you. At least that's my guess

But normally as a form of bragging. (look what I have spent) I doubt many developers read your sigs.

Hi.

Just a quick question. I see on forum posts that people list the spec of their computer after their posts.

Why do people do this?
Some smooth talking You tuber have probably started it by listing the specs under a video--then it runs like a Australian bush fire thru the ranks...
