Some people were using them just for spam, not only in offtopic area, also at other areas too. So i think this simple and few smilies are better . Just my opinion of course.

That was a big mistake i made during the upgrade, overwritten the wrong folder, so all smilies were killed It was a massacre in the admin panel, blood en squashed banana's all over the place
