RaceDepartment are proud to announce our continued association with Kunos Simulazioni and AK Informatica, partnering up to bring you the 2020 SRO E-Sport GT Series AM Championship.

Introducing the SRO GT E-Sport AM Series, broadcast live and exclusive on RaceDepartment TV. The new series, a follow-up to the highly successful first foray into the world of esports for Assetto Corsa Competizione last year, brings together the best community sim racing drivers over a five-round online championship campaign, featuring some of the finest marques in international GT3 racing.

Your Time To Shine

Already we have seen high profile real world drivers taking part in the 'PRO' category, select esport professional competitors in the 'SILVER' edition - and now it is time for you to get behind the wheel and have your moment of glory; potentially earning the opportunity to take part in a Grand Finale alongside real world GT World Challenge drivers, former Formula One World Champion Jenson Button, and the very best esport professionals.

Prizes

RaceDepartment are exceptionally proud to have secured relationships with a number of key partners for this new series, and as such we will be offering multiple opportunities to win some outstanding prizes throughout the duration of the championship - beginning with the qualification phase starting tomorrow.

Thanks to our broadcast sponsors, we have assembled a prize pool worth almost €7000, with prizes ranging from racing cockpits and gaming chairs, personalised racewear to awesome track day experiences.

Qualifying Phase Prize Draw Powered By GT Omega
  • 1 winner = Pro Office chair, Back Pack, Mousemat
  • 3 Winners = Classic Wheel Stand, Back Pack, Mousemat

Detailed information on how you can be in with a chance to win during each of our race broadcast events will be published in due course.

nice, I felt seriously bad for you guys not playing any part in the pro and pro-am category, but this is great!

Thanks Eckhart,

We are in strange times with Covid-19 and so many people from production companies and the likes current without work. Being able to focus on the aspect that RD is so heavily linked with - the community - feels like a perfect fit for us, and allows those from the industry that are currently without work to stay involved too, so it just feels like the right thing to do, and a perfect scenario.

Super excited, and some cool announcements still to come!

Won't let me sign up
mmh, no servers called sro-esport online but people have already set times ... must be doing sth. wrong

You first need to register for the series on the SRO E-Sport GT Series website (registration link HERE). Upon registration you will be sent an email to confirm your account.

Sign up for the official discord channel (link - https://discord.gg/tYcv79A) where access passwords to the servers will be granted, and support for the series offered.

Hope this helps.

Is this pretty much limited to the Northern hemisphere? I'm assuming with ping limits trying to enter from NZ would be a bit silly?

Well, I'm no techy so can't say if it would be a problem or not, but, even just taking part in qualification you have a chance of winning a decent prize. So it's worth giving it a shot regardless of how quick you are or powerful your tech is.

Not wanting to start an offtopic here but, what sim has a netcode good enough to allow decent racing with people playing from opposite sides of the planet?
AMS certainly does. Raced the last mini challenge league here on RD with zero issues (I'm in Aus and the server was in EU). Our club races in RF2 also have no issues racing on an Aussie server with a heap of euros on board. So there's 2 that work
