How I open the F1 2010 in window mode?

I only know it pops to windowed mode when you alt-tab from within in the game. (alt-enter for full screen btw)

I know I have to run in windoze mode for the game to work at all...this is kind of silly and I am not even sure why this is tha case....any input as to why this is would be helpful.
