Windows 10 Build 10041.

yeah same for me, both the steam and non steam versions of gsce are failing to launch at all, seems to be a graphics related issue I suspect as my refactor 2 is launching but I've lost all reflection effects, the game looks totally "flat" race room is also having graphics related issues and I'm unable to set my usual resolution without loosing all visuals, assetto corsa also seems to be effected by the reflection bug

I never understood why so many people dislike Windows 8. It's lighter and faster than Windows 7 - that's a fact - and it's stable as Windows 7.

I barely use that Start screen and it doesn't bother me, but I find it more useful than the old Start Menu.

I'm eager to upgrade to Win 10 as soon as possible.

Yeah I was an early adopter of win 8 during the beta phase and the same with win 10 which is just a more refined version of windows 8, not as much as I'm a fan of Linux and its various distros but until we get more gaming support in Linux We have to rely on good old windows for that.

re the gsce problem: I've reinstalled my graphics drivers (nvidia) and now all but gsce is running normally again, still can't get gsce to fire up even with compatibility modes :(

I'm tempted to do a clean install and see if gsce fires up, but that will be a job for tomorrow.

unfortunately that is the joys of using unreleased beta software (OS) you gotta take the rough with the smooth, it worked previously so im sure it will work again (hopefully), if you cant live without your fix of GSCE theres always the option to go back to a stable OS

So. now what we do??
Reinstall windows??
I think there is no solution, because reiza tell me, there is a experimental OS and they don't care.
Who gona care? US????
Bad money spend....
"Bad money spend..." on what - GSCE? Windows 10 isn't a release product, shame on you if you have put all your eggs in that basket. Reiza shouldn' be held responsible on a pre-released OS, I'm sure they will support Win10 when it is a final version.

I don't see Windows 10 under requirements. This is one reason I always wait at least 2-3 years before adopting a new OS as my primary OS. It takes that long for driver and 3rd party software devs to iron out all the bugs.

It's not Reiza's fault you chose to install their game on an unsupported OS.

System Requirements

  • MINIMUM:
    • OS:Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8
    • Processor:1,4 GHz Pentium or 100% compatible CPU

    • DirectX:Version 9.0c
    • Network:Broadband Internet connection
    • Hard Drive:10 GB available space
    • Additional Notes:MP via internet or network

  • RECOMMENDED:
    • OS:Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8
    • Processor:2,8 GHz Pentium or 100% compatible CPU
    • Memory:4 GB RAM
    • Graphics:DX9 Compatible with minumum 1 GB Video Memory
    • DirectX:Version 9.0c

Well, the OS I created while I was in the bath won't play the game, so now it's Reiza's fault and I want my money back!
Sound stupid?
That's what you sound like. Windows 10 is still about 6 months away from official release, after which there will be tons of updates, fixes etc.
Chill out and keep using a windows that you know works until we get the go-ahead from Reiza.:sneaky:
