Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

This week on Tuesday an iconic classic car on an iconic tracky. In the past I've recieved multiple request for a race with the Cortina but unavailability on S.GP made that impossible.
We're now in the testfase of an alternative for S.GP so that's why we're using WorldSimSeries for this event with as bonus the availability of the Cortina and CastleCombe.

WSS also brings some new features of which we're using in this event:

• Automatic install of car and track mod (in registration process).
  • This will overwrite the version if you have already these mods. Don't registrate if you don't want that and let me know.
• Time penalties: 1s for every 5 incidents
  
  • - Environment contact = 1 inc point
  • - Car contact = 1-2 inc points

• Pit stop: Mandatory (at least 1 liter of fuel)
• Tyre blankets: Yes
• Track Road temperature: 32 Celsius
• Track grip: 98% growing to 100%
• Track limits: No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please. You will be penalized if you break this rule.
• Damage: 20%
• Fuel Consumption: 100%
• Tyre wear: 100%

Do we need to pay to pick a livery or is that for when you want to upload your own?

And here it starts. The Castle combe circuit is an old one which i swapped for a much much better newer version a few months ago. I know it well because it used to be my local circuit. I really dont want it on my hard drive but i have no option if i want to use WSS and race with you guys.

You have to pay a chunk of money if you want to choose a livery at the moment

Unfortunately at the moment you have to pay for picking a livery and seeing the other participants. Definitely a point that we want to negotiate for RaceDepartment.

That would be nice as you need to be premium to race on RD.

No it hasn't been chosen yet but at the moment WSS is most likely to be our choice for AC.

Would it be possible to direct the Downloads to a specialised container/file which we could "sanitize" afterwards without WSS fuzzing around with our existing Installations?

Someone messing up my configurations and installed mods would be a NoNo for me.

Also I thought Bazza's mods were off menu here at RD. If we can race them here it begs the question why haven't we raced them before?

You could just rename your original map with the track to something like "BackUpTrackName) before registrating. After the event you delete the trackmap and rename the backupmap.

WSS says that all mods are legal. I guess we have to discuss who has the responsibility.

For once they weren't available on S.GP.

I'll sign in the race when I'm in the gaming computer, where I have the WSS app. From my phone, it doesn't allow me to register
I agree with Steve that I feel weird when WSS takes control of my PC to put the content :S but it's a stable and known platform, I believe. And they seem to love AC.

Without much effort from the organizers it is not possible to make sure that only known RD Premium members can register for WSS events.
In this WSS event someone unknown and with only a nickname was listed as a participant.
To have clean and respectful races I must at least know the participants and make sure they know our rules. When open for everyone, we're becoming a public server which we don't want.
So for me this is a nogo for WSS unless there's a solution for this problem. In the meantime we're looking for other alternatives.

Han, and what's bad about using RD server for the events? That people outside ED can't seen it and hypothetically join us?

Yes, that's the idea if we don't find an alternative. For single events the RD servers are fine but I have limited time as I'm going away for the weekend so probably we won't have an event next Tuesday.
