xbox 360 freezing issue

i am just trying to play the assetto corsa game, and then suddenly, the gamepad just locks its buttons for no reason, i dont know what to say at this point, i have a brain fog and i forget most of the words

Xbox 360 can also be a SteamVR controller;
perhaps something provokes steam to override its use as a game controller.
