XBox wireless controller vibration & vibration issues on wired connection

Hi, I have been enjoying GTR2 for a long time now since I switched from AC, but I am still having some issues that are bothering me:

1. Is there any way to enable controller vibration when playing wirelessly?
2. I have working vibration on wired connection, but for some reason it doesn't always work, meaning that upon entering a race, I need to go to controls settings and simply switch back and forth between rumblepad, joystick and wheel in the "Basic effects" section. And even with that, I have vibration only on curbs or off track, but not on throttle or braking.

Can anybody help with these issues please?
