Melbourne hosts the third race of the 2022 F1 calendar, where drivers will test their metal at the temporary circuit Albert park.

This season has had a few surprises with drivers returning and how some teams are performing, we've had Kevin Magnussen return to Haas and the likes of McLaren and Mercedes struggle.

So far, Ferrari and Red Bull appear to have the pace advantage of the other teams, with both cars looking more capable than their opponents. Alpine and Alpha Romeo Ferrari have both started the season well, by qualifying and finishing in the top 10 of both races.

We’ve seen plenty of action at the front of the pack with Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen fighting for the lead at both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and surely we are hoping for more of the same this weekend.

The new 2022 regulation changes are designed to allow the car behind to drive closer to the car ahead, and so far the new regs appear to work. The underlying question at this time is whether DRS is too powerful and that question could be answered at Melbourne, which has an unprecedented 4 DRS zones.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were back to back, which didn’t give the teams much time to analyse their cars. Now that there has been a two week break, will we see any new developments to any of the cars? Could we see a team like McLaren further up the field and could Mercedes mitigate the porpoising that their car is prone to?

Do you think they’ll be any surprises this weekend?

Three races into the season where Merc clearly has a crap car and they are second in the constructors. If Red Bull and Ferrari don't stop trifling around and Merc gets their sh!t together, it is going to be such an embarrassment to both of them to lose the Constructors and Driver championships.

Kick them while you can.

If you mean Lewis he is not a GOAT. The problem with F1 is numbers don't add up. He had a good car and the key people are going to Red Bull. Making Mercedes weak. With any team that is successful contracts end and you mouve onto new teams. It would be dull if you stayed on a team for your whole career.
I think that is a simplification. If a someone is paying a person a ton of money, no matter how dull, most people are not to going to take an exciting, poorly paying job. The way you get people to move is pay them more or give them more responsibility. Dull won't cut it by itself.

On another note, I really don't like Crofty. I really have watched F1 for quite a while and he just doesn't do it for me. I like Merc, but his blatant prejudice is kind of grinding me down.

Maybe I will just turn the sound down from now on.

But, it seems to me, no one can figure out the braking. Constant understeer from almost every car.

And the question of the day, Why does the Ferrari porpoise until it gets to a turn and then settle down and the Merc stays a Bouncy House the whole track ? I can't imagine what you must feel like after 2 hours of your neck snapping and your spine being turned into dust.

I just can't believe Ferrari finally got the best car.

Even though Max is my favorite driver I think he will have it very hard getting WDC this year. Leclerc imo is top 3 of the drivers on the grid with Max and Lewis imo.

An advantage of F1 TV is you get Will Buxton, Sam Collins, and Jolyon Palmer calling the race. I think they do a good job.

we here in the USof A are getting the Sky Sports feed via ESPN. It is an eye opener to watch an entire two hour race with zero commercials. But my wife, who HATES racing, is always asking why they keep talking about Lewis. Why do we always hear radio chatter from Lewis? Bla bla bla....I keep telling her, it's a British broadcast with a British World Champ. Bias is clearly favoring the Brit drivers, but I do not blame them one bit.

I DO blame them. They are the broadcast for the ENTIRE English speaking audience now thanks to ESPN and others. They CAN NOT be this biased its unacceptable. I mean British fans want a good broadcast too right?

Also, here in the United States i would have to have stayed up to 3 to watch the race, not doing that. So I watched the rerun on ESPN and my god the commercials were SO BAD. I thought they got rid of the awful ads after 2018 but it appears they only did that on the live broadcast. The reruns are still full of ads.

They screwed up this weekend and didn't post the "On Demand" version until today, but typically you can watch the ad-free versions on the WatchESPN app after the TV broadcast.
