One of the most exciting circuits on the F1 calendar will host the racing action this weekend as the field battles for late season points in Japan.

Suzuka’s complex layout has given F1 fans exciting races for decades, and this weekend’s grand prix looks to be no exception. The 2022 cars have allowed for longer and closer battles compared to recent years, and we can expect mid-pack scrapping in Japan this Sunday.

This is the first trip Formula 1 has made to Japan since 2019. Last time out, Sebastian Vettel was the winner, and Lewis Hamilton recorded the fastest lap. Neither of these facts is likely to repeat based on the 2022 results to date. Vettel has struggled for consistency and pace this season, and Hamilton has been unable to reach the championship form we’ve come to expect from him.

Just five races remain in the 2022 season. After Japan, the teams will face off in the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. Behind the dominant Red Bull and Max Verstappen, rankings of cars and teams from P2 downward should see some reordering before the end of the season. Teams will be putting their best cars forward, and drivers will be trying to extract the most from them to score late season points.

The most recent F1 race, last weekend in Singapore, produced interesting results and saw Sergio Perez maintain a lead throughout nearly the entire race despite frequent safety cars and virtual safety cars in drying conditions.

The cars winding through the legendary S-curves and ripping through 130R flat out should provide exciting racing action this weekend. What are your predictions for the results? Let us know in the comments below.

You see, you mention other drivers seemingly disparagingly by their surname yet you hold Hamilton so dear that you call him 'Lewis'
That, young man is begging for an 'unfan' like retort
What difference does that make, you knew just who I meant, besides there's an easy reason for that. I never have payed much attention to the other drivers that I mentioned so there is zero connection. Senna is the only other driver that I like but I never say Aryton - who cares?

Then if you dont care, do what i just said in my previous post. GO. AWAY. Stop derailing this thread with your LH mancrush. Nobody cares.

And actually talking about Hamilton in the japanese grand prix, seems he doesn't like classic cars. Or ICE cars nowadays at all:

Yeah, he did, last year Verstappen took it to the Mercedes No1 and at Silverstone got put into the wall at 160MPH.
That is an opnion, one thing that isn't an opinion is that the race director was fired for his actions. That is an undisputed fact.

Someone can say "fired", someone else can say "removed" the point is that he was taken off his job as race director period.

Journalism speculations are not FACTS.

Again, this is off topic.

how much pressure did Masi have after the race until months after? created by sky sports and Toto Wolf, it's outrageous that this man was treated this way

Good night sleep tight under your Lewis Hamilton bedding set.

It's sad when it gets to an ugly level over sports, but this unfortunately is human nature. We see it at soccer matches, tennis matches, Nascar events, and in F1 events.

so do you agree? how awful this has been for that man

I think that he made a mistake and he lost his position for it, and that should have been the end. When people started making threats on him and his family it went way beyond merely going too far. No person, and no person's family should endure threats. That was an awful thing for people to do to him. He did not deserve that.

He means that it will be his first without having assistance, or controversy. Only his most ardent fans believe that he won in 2021.
Can't you do your crying in private. Hey, why don't you have a pic of Max (or any driver that threatens your beloved Hamilton) pinned to a dartboard and throw darts at it. That might get all that venom out of your system :)

Can we drop the personal attacks please, and at least try to make an effort to stick vaguely to the topic.

What an absolute joke Formula 1 has become the past 5 or so years when it comes to wet racing. They stop the race today when it was barely wet enough for the full wet tyres. Don't be deceived by the spray into thinking it was incredibly wet as that spray was the result of the diffuser and under-body aero. Look at the spray coming off the tyres, it wasn't a lot by any means. F1, for 60 or so years, has always raced in wayyy wetter conditions. How many times has Senna, Gilles, M. Schumacher, etc. driven to a majestic victory in incredibly wet races with the cars being slid around, with all sorts of throttle control during acceleration, short shifting, us viewers hearing the revs go up and down as the driver is playing with the car's wheelspin and rear slip-angle throughout the corners and acceleration phase? What a joke F1 / the FIA currently are.

Then, when the FIA do decide to resume the race, it's been so long that it's already dry enough for intermediates. So, basically, F1 has no point in even creating full wet tyres anymore as any wetness beyond the range of the intermediate tyre will just mean the race gets cancelled / paused. Unbelievable.

There have been races very recently where they keep the race paused (ie. red flagged) until the track is so dry that within 5 or 10 laps of racing with the intermediate tyres, a dry line already starts forming. It's absolutely pathetic.

FIA is an absolute joke.

While I don’t think it makes F1 a joke, I do think its odd that they have full wet tires but pretty much never race in any weather that requires them. I doubt any team has run more than 20 laps in the last 10 years with full wets.

Guys, let's face it. Latifi is one of the worst drivers and just on Friday, had no clue where to go on the track. And he can still comfortably beat Ricciardo.

Danny should start looking for a civil job, luxury store assistant, host for corporate events, underwear model, escort etc.
I'm flabbergasted by Latifi's performance in wet weather.
