Assetto Corsa Competizione: Play for Free on Xbox This Weekend

ACC Xbox Free To Play.jpg
The console version of Assetto Corsa Competizione has recently received the big v1.9 update, with a hotfix to iron out unexpected bugs following soon after that. That means all the fun of the new cars and content for 2023, just like in the PC version - and Xbox racers can even look forward to a free-to-play weekend from July 13th to 16th!

Just in time for round five of GT World Challenge Europe, which makes station at Misano World Circuit in Italy, the simulation is free to play for anyone on Xbox Series X and S. In addition the track named after motorcycle racer Marco Simoncelli, ten other circuits await console sim racers, as well as an eclectic selection of GT3 machinery.

DLC Not Included

The free-to-play period starts on July 13th, 6 pm CEST/5 pm BST/12 pm EST. It does not include any DLC, hence the smaller selection of circuits - with every piece of DLC included, ACC's track rosters is boosted to 23 locations in total. Similarly, the choice of current-year GT3 cars is broader when DLC is included, but the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo has been added for free as part of the v1.9 update - and the BMW M4 GT3 has already been available at no further cost for some time.

While the v1.9 update marked a highlight in ACC's console history, as it was only three months behind the PC update (unlike previous updates), the release was slightly overshadowed by multiple traction-related bugs popping up after its arrival, leading to unexpected crashes, blown engines and burst tires. The problems have since been fixed - so there is nothing in the way of a weekend full of ACC fun on Xbox.
