Assetto Corsa Competizione | US Tracks DLC Release Date Confirmed

ACC Land of the Free DLC Release Date.jpg
The first trailer for the upcoming Land of the Free DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione has been released, and it confirms that the track pack will be available on June 30th, 2022.

PC players have just over two weeks to wait until they can get their hands on the upcoming Land of the Free DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione. Kunos and 505 Games have confirmed that the new DLC featuring American circuits will be released on the last day of June, 2022.

A tweet published by the Kunos team showed some quick clips from Circuit of the Americas, Watkins Glen and Indianapolis. No confirmation has yet been given on whether this is all of the tracks that will ever be included in the DLC, or if more American tracks will be added.

We first learned about the new tracks with a few fleeting frames in a teaser video that Kunos published late last year as a keynote presentation which accompanied the version 1.8 update for PC. In typical Kunos fashion, the developer has been tight-lipped about the DLC since.

Console players should not hold their breath for a release on PlayStation and Xbox at the same time. The Gen 9 console port that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players were understandably excited about has been slower to incorporate updates applied to the PC version or DLC packs than players had hoped. 505 has published several statements on the matter, but all signs point to the Gen 9 versions lagging behind the PC version until late 2022.

The Land of the Free American track pack could potentially be the last content we see for Assetto Corsa Competizione, as many expect the Kunos team to shift their focus to Assetto Corsa 2.

Does the new DLC pack look like something you would be interesting in playing? What other American tracks would you like to see added? Let us know in the comments below.

Now I'm wondering how much they actually benefited from being the official SRO game, if they can't even release what's under the SRO. So what's the point?! Seriously, only 3 american tracks and it's probably the last ACC dlc.
I doubt if it is that they can't, more likely they chose what was available at a cost they could pass on. Just like rF2 only released 2 BTCC tracks, that doesn't mean they won't release more later on. Also this gives them a good indication of the ACC userbase's interest in American content. If this pack sells, probably more will follow. If this track pack's sales are anemic, well then there are still some Asian circuits to test.

This is what I think as well. AC and ACC are mostly European focused games, so it wouldn't be wise to spend a whole bunch of money on lots of American tracks all at once without knowing if they'll sell well at all.

If this pack turns out to be a success then Kunos will get the message and invest in more American tracks, either for ACC (hopefully) or for AC2 or for whatever their next sim ends up being.

I love Watkins and Indianapolis so I'm very happy with the pack for just those two. Don't know about COTA since I've never driven that track in any sim... from the videos I've seen looks to be the type of track that will take me a lot of practice until I'm able to drive it with some actual flow. Very technical and I'm not sure I'll enjoy it but I'll give it a try.

COTA is the best Tilke track, in my opinion. However, it was designed for F1, I don’t know how great it is for GT cars. NASCAR races there and I watched a race. The stock cars looked slooooow in comparison to F1!

I kind of feel the same about Paul Ricard tbh.

I'm happy with any new tracks. And I follow pretty much all of SRO Competition in real life so I'm well aware of the licensing limitations (and happy the new liveries will also be included). I'm not entirely sure though why the choice was made for COTA.

It is not a traditional GT Racing track. It isn't even part of the current GTWC-America season. Indianapolis makes perfect sense as it is an event that SRO also wants to grow in real life. Watkins Glen is an evergreen in both SRO and IMSA competition so perfect for American markets.
I guess Sebring and Road America were too expensive? What about Sonoma or VIR though, those are great and unique tracks and also part of current season I doubt they would be as expensive?

I'm happy, but I was expecting at least a fourth track (and kinda hoping for Sebring...) - although thinking about it, I also believe the WEC have an upcoming video game so they could have purchased exclusive rights to Sebring maybe?

I can't imagine Sebring being more expensive to license than Indy.

I think that may have been true in the past but nowadays with YouTube coverage and American tracks in so many games I believe that's no longer the case if they'd added VIR, Sebring, RA or Sonoma I'd have snapped it up, and I think I'm not alone from this side of the pond.

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in wanting to run on tracks where the racing is happening in real life, back in the R3E club days we regularly ran DTM or WTCC in the week they had the real events.
I hope the pack sells well but it would have been nice to have more from the actual series.

Its a pity they cant just communicate this and we have to guess etc. Maybe the tracks have figured out simracing is popular and are charging a lot for licensing?

so It's 17,99€ for 3 tracks, the liveries are in a separate free update. Also included are missing liveries for GTWC-Europe sprint cup.
The gold cup liveries are to my knowledge still not included.

Not the cheapest DLC Kunos have ever released.

Another DLC more expensive than the actual game, WTF!! :O_o:

Just spent 50 minutes of my lunch break driving around the new tracks - so very quick first impressions
  • Watkins Glen: plug and play really - great rendition of the track, is very fast (as you'd expect) and the track feels very fast in ACC. Great elevation changes - not always translated well in other sims. Very good flow. I think this will be an instant classic for online racing. 9/10
  • Indianapolis - Generally favourable impressions. There's a decent flow to it, track looks great as well but some of the 90° corners will make for a disaster in online racing. Feels like a lesser version of Silverstone. 7/10
  • COTA - well I'm biased because I simply don't like the track on any sim. Track Limits are inconsistent, the sharp corners with hard breaking zones I don't like very much. This isn't a track well suited for GT racing and this ACC Rendition didn't change my mind so far....5/10

Couldn't have said it better myself! EXACTLY my thoughts (but phrased better :p)

The $17 price of the DLC is worth it to me for Watkins Glen alone, having Indy is a bonus. I drove around on both for an hour each and I think they are very well done. As far as COTA, no thanks. I won't go to Texas even if it is virtually.

Regional price for this dlc is horrible, really expensive in South America in general, ugh.

This sounds like an rF2 DLC thread. Welcome to our inflated new world economy.
Considering the quality of Kunos ACC tracks it's probably not extortionate at £5 each here in the UK.
I wonder if they factored in that the cost was going to be higher and decided that three tracks were enough this time round.
Wishful thinking for more US tracks. :)
