BMW M2 CS Racing Confirmed for Assetto Corsa Competizione

The first of the cars to be included in the Challengers Pack DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione has been confirmed as the BMW M2 CS Racing.

The latest news surrounding an upcoming DLC pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione is the confirmation of its first car. The BMW M2 CS Racing will be included in the Challengers Pack DLC, which is scheduled to be released on the 23rd of this month.

The M2 CS Racing is a legitimate race car, though it won't fit into the main GT3 and GT4 classes you'll find in Assetto Corsa Competizione. Like the Huracan Super Trofeo and Porsche Cup cars already present in the title, this new BMW is intended to be used in one-make races.

BMW's M2 CS Racing car is a stripped down version of the M2 road car. It's powered by an inline twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. All but the most essential parts are stripped from the interior, which keeps the car light and nimble.

The remaining cars that are to be included in the next ACC DLC have yet to be confirmed, but with less than two weeks to go before the pack is released to the public, we can expect lots of news from the Kunos team very soon.

Are you excited to try this car out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

OTH, if it's a plain ST Evo series spec, I'll be a tiny bit disappointed if they don't include real team/liveries of the support series to run a 21' ST Euro season, but just a presentation livery + esports variations. Wouldn't count on a 22' ST Evo2 so early.
If it is those plain and ugly random liveries for these cars, then I won't buy too. The livery generator they have is hideous.

Slightly off-topic comment, but seeing these comments about Mustangs...

The Ford Mustang GT4 is not in ACC's British GT pack for the 2019 series, right? But I just checked on Wikipedia about the real-world championship, and there were a number of Mustang GT4 cars in the series. I also discovered a Jaguar F-Type SVR GT4 ran. ACC claims that "The BRITISH GT PACK DLC brings all the action of the 2019 British GT Championship" but... it doesn't, since Mustang and Jag GT4 cars didn't make it into the game.

What gives, I wonder? Was Ford and Jaguar just annoying about licensing? Or did Kunos decide to not model every single car, even though they had done that in the past, including oddball cars like the Reiter R-EX? Is this reason to be concerned about future releases not including every car from a series?

I have no idea. But I find this whole thing to be unexpected and weird given ACC is known for completeness in its depiction of SRO series.

The British GT pack was mainly a 3 track pack, which only included BGT 19' liveries + season mixed grid rules for already existing cars ingame (base+other dlcs). Because of this, the only GT4 you have access to are the ones that ran in the 2019 GT4 European Series included in the previous GT4 DLC if you own it.

(PS: It's not that I wouldn't like to see it completing the grid)

This makes sense! Thanks for the explanation. :)

Dtm is ruled by ADAC, not SRO, so don't expect Nords or DTM
DTM isn't ruled by ADAC, I think it's belonging to ITR. You maybe mistake it with ADAC GT Masters..

I welcome new cars to the Sim.. but what I need are more nice tracks. The tracks in ACC are all well done, but there are so many circuits I personally dislike (Paul Ricard, Barcelona, Snetterton,...) - and the good ones are all the tracks every other sim can offer too. Some new, unique, authentic tracks would be a nice addition for me (especially a few city circuits ;-))

It's difficult to get excited about this one.

The game needs more circuits.
The game has a lot of circuits, but they are not used for some reason. More tracks are welcome, but people are not going to use them anyway apart from Monza and Spa.

I add that ACC has the fastest loading times, and the size of all the game is 13.5go, it' s the winner for every part.
INSTANT BUY DAY ONE for each DLC made by KUNOS.
At 4K epic, this game is more beauty than the reality.
I can't imagine playing it at 3x4K epic at 144 constant fps.

But this upcoming DLC in 2 weeks' time, only includes cars? not any new tracks?

This thing already has too many similar cars. Sorry, but I don't see the appeal
anymore in this title unless they release new tracks from Asia or any other
missing continent that holds this GT3/4 competition.

I am looking forward to this, the first official 992 GT3 for me (dont have I-racing) and the M2 in a game thats a bit more forgiving and alot prettier than Rfactor 2

They confirmed new tracks for summer. Could be a mix of SRO America and SRO Asia tracks. Or just America.
We know that COTA is coming for sure.
