There is no summer break for Polyphony Digital: Gran Turismo Producer Kazunori Yamauchi teased new cars coming to GT7 next week - although there only being three this time around might hint at part of the team enjoying some seaside sunshine.

Speaking of sand, the first two cars would not be afraid of dipping their wheels in it. Gran Turismo takes no side in the most famous rivalry in the rally world and will introduce both a Subaru Impreza STI and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in this upcoming update. The Pleiades are a bit fresher that the diamonds though, as players are getting the 2004 version of the Subaru, known as the STI 8, the GDB (second generation chassis, first facelift), or as the blobeye in reference to its headlights, one of the most appreciated Impreza designs.
Aggressive trend setter: The 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3. Image credit: Adam Court
Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi is nearly 10 years older as Gran Turismo fans will be presented with the 1995 Evo 3, the latest version of the initial CE9A chassis. It bumped up its visual agressivity compared to the Evo 1 and 2, starting a new styling trend for sports sedans.
Tons of hp, tons of downforce, and an Adrian Newey design: The Aston Martin Valkyrie has an unfair advantage, one could say. Image credit: Aston Martin
The final car in the update will be much more modern, but not less striking by any means: Designed in collaboration with Adrian Newey, the Aston Martin Valkyrie was initially developed with the new ACO Hypercar endurance racing class in mind. With a 1000+hp naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 revving above 10.000 RPM, and downforce levels produced by the open underbody being just shy of 2 tons, the Valkyrie will be quite the experience and should outperform many race cars on the track despite being a road car.
Sliding into GT7's garages soon? The Toyota GR Corolla might be available in August already. Image credits: Toyota
On a sidenote, Toyota has also recently mentioned the GR Corolla would make its virtual debut soon in Gran Turismo. Considering the Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup still has a round with a yet unspecified car planned in August on its schedule, players can fully expect the Corolla to be deployed within the next two months to be used for that race.
Regarding next week's update, it is unknown at this point if other features or content such as tracks will be added, so stay tuned for the update release!
