The Season 4 version of iRacing for 2023 released over a month and a half ago. However, new features are still seemingly streaming into the game through patches. In fact, Patch 3 of iRacing Season 4 releases today introducing additions to the new UI as well as many fixes.

Buy content in iRacing UI

The largest changes players will notice in the latest iRacing patch feature on the new UI program. Since its inception a few years ago, the simulator’s developers have progressively attempted to transfer players away from the old Members’ Site, instead favouring the UI. However, until now, players still had to log onto the old website to purchase content.

With the new version, hitting the ‘Add to Cart’ button on content in the new UI will open a store page in the UI itself rather than attempting a redirection. The Store and one’s Cart will now be available in the UI. It is however still impossible to pay via PayPal whilst using the UI. For that, a trip to the Members’ Site will be necessary.

One will now also be able to add iRacing Credits to their account through the program, streamlining the whole process.

Another new addition to the new iRacing UI in Season 4 Patch 3 is the ability to spectate any session. Alongside the Race Now tab will feature a similar Spectate Sessions option. Here, players will have access to every open server with a variety of filtering tools. Fancy kicking down and watching a sim race? Now, you have all the tools to do so.

iRacing Season 4 Patch 3 notes

Aside from the ability to purchase content in the iRacing UI, Patch 3 of the current season introduces several fixes. In fact, many of the simulator’s cars receive a number of tweaks in this latest update, none more so than the new for Season 4 Dallara Super Formula SF23.

The Japanese open wheeler has seen its electronics adjusted with both the Launch Control and Overtake systems touched up. They should now function better in a variety of scenarios.

Elsewhere, players will now get to race the Acura ARX-06 GTP car in the HRC livery revealed at the end of last year. Whilst currently an unofficial colour scheme in the real world, players can now pretend their LMDh is a Honda-branded racer. Meanwhile, another new model in the current season is the Ferrari 296 GT3 which receives Damage Model adjustments, as is the case for the 1987 Pontiac NASCAR Legend.

Those that made the most of iRacing‘s AI in recent weeks will have noticed that grids formed poorly, not respecting relative car class speeds. According to the patch notes, this bug should be no more.

Finally, several circuits in the simulator will gain an immersion boost with Patch 3. Barcelona, Imola, Interlagos, Lédenon, Magny-Cours and Monza all receive PA announcements in their local language. One can now sit in the pits with the engine off and listen to hours of commentary.

One thing that would be cool was if at the time of the beat and malfunctions, the pilots took the hand of the steering wheel and the same was tremendous, with the steering wheels do at the time of shock

Would be great in Iracing if the "no blame" for incidents was improved when you end up with a 4X in an incident when you are blameless.I believe that Forza has this virtual stewards style technology.I dont think it needs to be comprehensive.A simple hit to the rear end by another car taking you out should be able to result in a 4X for the car following because the game should be able to calculate the following car would be carrying excessive speed into the corner at the point of impact. I wouldnt want it for hits to the rear 3/4 or anywhere else because these are often disputable.

the virtual steward stuff in forza is so terrible. it would be a huge step backwards for iracing to do this
